Wayne White is a guy from Tennessee who finds shitty thriftstore reproduction paintings, and inserts his own text.
Hilarious.

All art should be this way.

I want go there

Me and the lovely Kerrie made a promise in November, when we were both stressing about the progress of our life's direction, that we would try instead to make it to spain this spring. And guess what, I gots my pennies saved and we're booking our ticket in a week.

We are planning on walking the trail called "El Camino De Santiago" also known more simply as the Pilgrim's Trail. It starts in Southern France (or even as far north as Paris) and works it's way across northern Spain, ending in Santiago. The trail is thousands of years old, and has been walked by many sinners and saints, king and queens. Literally. It gives me chills thinking about it. The trail is dotted about every 8 or so miles with refuges or hostels meant only for pilgrims.

What's both mysterious and beautiful about the trail, is the variety of people who walk it and the reasons they do. Some walk the trail to mourn, to prove their faith, to prove their faith in themselves, or simply to meditate on their lives with the simple act of walking for eight hours everyday.

I've been dreaming about this since high school. I can't wait.

So it came up today about guilty pop culture pleasures. And frankly, I've decided to come out of the closet.

You're a piece of shit

From the movie "I Like Killing Flies"

Love it.

Also Ode to Alice

And the movie that got it all started in my universe:

All filmed in Tucson. Martin Scorsese too. Also delicious.

Ode to the Kristofferson

Just wanted to acknowlege and with honor tip my hat, to another hunky fox of the seventies.

Delicious.

Beautiful Losers

Absolutely inspiring film my Aaron Rose. It's about the art scene in the late nineties in New York City. The artists are hilarious, vulnerable and most of all inspiring. Makes me want to spray paint some shit. Funny how if a big blob of wierdo kids with not much money, boredom and lots of paint can lead to a shift in pop culture.

Keep the child inside thriving. Create whatever you want.

Why do we hold back with our creating powers? Wouldn't it be the greatest 'fuck you' to do something with all your free time that by who ever made the rules would deem worthless?
You don't have to be well-read, have a goal for the next ten years, you just have to have a heart.

The only thing we carry when we leave this world is love. Not your money, not your mortgage. So why not smear love all over the walls right?

Next goal in life: paint a mural.
Anyone got any free walls?
